I’m a mess
Thursday, September 25th, 2008Crossfit is kicking my ass. I blew out a hamstring last week doing windsprints during out “warmup” and I haven’t been the same since. It probably wasn’t the smartest idea to finish out the class limping the 400 meter intervals. If pain is really weakness leaving the body then I sure lost a lot of weakness.
This week I decided that I need to raise the intensity and start challenging the faster guys in the class. In crossfit the coaches will motivate you to push yourself but ultimately you are responsible for the intensity of your workouts, and you are expected to take it to the wall. Anyway, I went all out on Monday and I’m still feeling it. At BJJ last night I was basically a sack of potatoes. My hamstring injury takes away my hip-drive which basically makes me useless on the mats.
I don’t want to over-train but I think this is the right time to do hard conditioning. If I compete again, I’ll have to dial it down leading up to the competition.
